Já a Marie budeme stavět dům. Objemově skromná stavba dostala pracovní jméno Dorka. Malá bílá kníračka mojí mamky se stala symbolem funkčního kompaktního řešení. V zimě vždycky trochu přibere, tak bude nový dům spíše letní verze tohoto trochu rozmazleného psíka. Maličkou parcelu máme na místě, které se v minulosti jmenovalo Sonnenbad a proháněli se tam před sto lety nahatí milovníci slunečních paprsků. S lesem za zády a Libercem před očima z ní zíráme na Ještědský hřeben. Do centra to není daleko a Lesní koupaliště je skoro za domem.

Marie and I are going to build a house. The modestly sized building has been given the working name Dorka. My mom's small white Schnauzer became the symbol of a functional compact solution. She always gains a bit of weight in winter, so the new house will rather be a summer version of this somewhat pampered little dog. On a site that used to be called Sonnenbad, where nude sun-lovers frolicked a hundred years ago, we have a tiny plot of land. With the forest at our back and Liberec in front of our eyes, we gaze at the Ještěd Ridge. It's not far to the center, and the Forest Swimming Pool is almost behind the house.

Její vlasy se dál pohupují ve větru, jako by chtěly zachytit každou myšlenku, každý pocit, každou vůni. Podívá se na horizont, kde se v odpoledním slunci blýská majestátní Ještěd a pak se znovu ponoří do knihy a nechá se unášet dalším dobrodružstvím.“

"Marie sits in the window, reading a book. A gentle breeze blows through the window. Her hair waves like seaweed in the flow of the sea near the island of Skrova, in the cold waters far beyond the Arctic Circle. Sunrays shatter on the edge of the roof and fall on the pages of the book. Warmed granite stones heat the feet and the façade smells of timber. Marie smiles, takes a break to enjoy the moment. Her hair continues to sway in the wind, as if trying to capture every thought, every feeling, every scent. She looks at the horizon, where majestic Ještěd sparkles in the afternoon sun, then dives back into her book, carried away by another adventure."

Dispozice našeho domu není složitá, ale je hodně promyšlená. Musí naplnit naši touhu po skromném, ale velkorysém bydlení. Víme, co chceme, a tak byl proces vymýšlení překvapivě hladký. Nebývá to vždy jednoduché, když si dva architekti kreslí společně dům. Na divokém pozemku vyroste drobná, tvarově jednoduchá dřevostavba se sedlovou střechou. Dispozičně dům nevykazuje žádné velké excesy. V přízemí je obytný prostor s kuchyní, technické zázemí domu a naše ložnice s malou koupelnou. Tam, kde to bylo možné, se jednotlivé místnosti otevírají až do krovu a využívají tak hluchá místa horní dispozice.

The layout of our house is not complicated, but it is very well thought out. It fulfills our desire for modest, but generous living. We know what we want, so the process of conceptualizing was surprisingly smooth. It's not always easy when two architects are designing a house together. On the unruly plot, a small, simply shaped timber building with a pitched roof will arise. The layout of the house has no major excesses. On the ground floor, there is a living space with a kitchen, the technical facilities of the house, and our bedroom with a small bathroom. Wherever possible, individual rooms open up to the roof, utilizing the dead spaces of the upper layout.

„Sjíždím na kole z Maliníku domů. Na Rudolfově cítím, jak se mísí chladný vzduch z jeskyní Valhaly s letním slunečním teplem z jižních svahů Jizerských hor. Kateřinské serpentýny prořezávají nekonečnou masu zeleně okolních bučin a já se v té nádheře spouštím kopce dolů. Otevírám dveře domu a ledabyle opírám kolo o stěnu. Tretry letí do rohu a já vcházím do obýváku. Vlnky na hladině malého bazénku odrážejí sluneční svit na stěny obývacího pokoje. Stříbřitá prasátka se mihotají na tmavých stěnách a z venku ševelí listy bříz. Jako by mi našeptávaly, abych se rozběhl ven a skočil do vody. Odraz vodní hladiny se roztříští na tisíc kousků a trvá ještě chvilku, než se zase uklidní a objeví se drobné stříbrné skvrnky, které tancují všude po stěnách. Je letní odpoledne. Klasy suché trávy o sebe šustí ve větru a nekonečný den pomalu ustupuje noci.

"I'm cycling home down from Maliník. In Rudolfov, I feel the mix of cold air from the Valhalla caves with the summer sun's warmth from the southern slopes of the Jizera Mountains. The Kateřinky road serpentines and cuts through the endless mass of greenery of the surrounding beech forests, and I descend the hill in this splendor. I open the door of the house and casually lean my bike against the wall. My cycling shoes fly into a corner, and I walk into the living room. The ripples on the surface of the small pool reflect sunlight onto the living room walls. Outside, the leaves of the birches rustle. As if they are whispering to me to run outside and dive into the water. The reflection on the water's surface shatters into a thousand pieces and takes a while to calm down again, showing small silver spots dancing all over the walls. It's a summer afternoon. tufts of dry grass rustle against each other in the wind, and the endless day slowly gives way to night."

O patro výš pod střechou jsou další dvě ložnice s koupelnou a záchodem. Obě mají okna nejen ven, ale i do o obývacího prostoru a zádveří. I koupelna je s obytným prostorem propojena zaskleným otvorem, a tak máte přehled o dění v obýváku i když si čistíte zuby. Vnitřní povrchy jsou kombinací dřevěných povrchů CLT panelů, betonových broušených podlah, barevného lina a obkladu z liberecké žuly. Lom máme za domem, tak by byla škoda ho nevyužít. Žula se propíše i do zpevněných povrchů okolo domu a do exteriéru. Hodně času trávíme venku, a tak jsme kladli velký důraz na propojení interiéru se zahradou. Proto má dům nejenom velká okna, ale také přesahy střechy, které ho jednak v létě chrání před přehříváním, ale také rozšiřují užitný prostor krytý před nepřízní libereckého počasí. Přímo před největším oknem je dřevěná terasa a malý bazének. Ten poslouží v létě k osvěžení, v zimě zase k otužování.

Upstairs, under the roof, there are two more bedrooms and a bathroom. Both have windows not only outside but also into the living area and the hall. Even the bathroom is connected to the living space downstairs via a glazed opening, so you can keep an eye on what's happening in the living room even while brushing your teeth. The interior materials are a combination of wooden CLT panels, polished concrete floors, colored linoleum, and Liberec granite cladding. The quarry is just behind the house, so it would be a shame not to use it. Granite will also be used in the outdoor surfaces around the house and in the exterior. We spend a lot of time outdoors, so we have placed great emphasis on connecting the interior with the garden. Therefore, the house has not only large windows but also roof overhangs, which protect it from overheating in summer and also expand the usable space sheltered from the adverse Liberec weather. Directly in front of the largest window, there is a wooden terrace and a small pool. In summer, it serves for refreshment, in winter for cold exposure.

Okolí domu tvoří až na bezprostřední okolí strmý svah. Abychom zabránili úrazům nás a našich vzácných návštěv, musíme poprosit pana bagristu, aby si s terénem zkusil trochu pohrát. Snad už se pak nikdo neskoulí ze svahu dolu. Pokud se něco takového stane, nepropadejte panice, budete zachyceni spletí rododendronů, bříz a mladých boroviček. A když se vám přeci jen podaří dokoulet se až na dolní část zahrádky, zjeví se před vámi objekt bývalé trafostanice přestavěný na letní dům pro hosty. Na střeše trafostanice, která je přístupná z horní zahrady, je malá terasa mezi záhony. Tak jestli se vám už nechce nahoru, klidně si odpočiňte v trafačce. Klíče jsou pod květináčem.

The area around the house is, except for the immediate surroundings, a steep slope. To prevent accidents for us and our dear visitors, we have to ask the excavator operator to try and play around with the terrain a bit. Hopefully, then no one will roll down the slope. If something like that happens, don't panic, you'll be caught in a tangle of rhododendrons, birches, and young pines. And if you manage to roll down to the lower part of the garden, you will see a former transformer station converted into a summer house for guests. On the roof of the transformer station, which is accessible from the upper garden terrace, there is a small terrace among the flower beds, maybe even a small greenhouse. So if you don't feel like going up, just relax in the transformer station. The keys are under the flower pot.

Dolní patro dostane tmavou úpravu. Temné tóny interiér zútulní a dodají mu punc luxusu. Tmavá barva je také milosrdnější k drobný vizuálním chybám, které se na dřevě sem tam objeví. Vestavný nábytek bude důležitou součástí domu. Čím je stavba menší, tím propracovanější systém úložných prostor potřebuje. Kuchyně, koupelny a parapety budou obloženy žulou. S vybavením spotřebiči nám pomůže Tomáš z AD 1150. Dobře se vyzná v jednotlivých značkách a umí poradit. Dokonce nám dodá i linoleum na schodiště a do horního patra. Interiér doplní naše skromná sbírka obrazů. Těšíme se na nejnovější přírůstky od Evžena Šimery. Sedí tam jak prdel na hrnec. S fasádou si pořád nevíme rady. Buď ji opálíme, nebo prkna povrchově upravíme dřevním térem. Dům bude černej jako bota nejen z venku, ale i zevnitř. S Jizerkama za zády budeme společně my a náš dům koukat do nekonečně zvrásněné krajiny na podnosu stotisícového města. Tak ať je nám tam dobře!

Vila Dorka is a wooden building. The envelope is composed of CLT panels and wood fiber boards. The panels are exposed in the interior, so the house will be permeated with wood. The wood-processing industry supplies CLT panels from Czech woods, so today our house does not have to travel from Finland or Austria. Vila Dorka will be Czech. Our friends will undertake the building of the wooden structure. Construction will begin in March when the guys from 1ku1 will pour the concrete slab and prepare the connections. Then it will take off. By the end of April, a crane will bring the individual parts of the wooden building. Thanks to the system from the company Nema, the rough construction should be standing in seven days. The panels will arrive on-site with preparations for all installations, and then different professions will take turns on the site and finish the house. Right after the rough construction is completed, window fitters and plumbers will start. The wood-aluminum windows will enclose the building, and we will start preparing the floor layers. Dalibor and his company Skácel solár will take care of the energy concept of the house. The main thing is that the system of floor heating with a fireplace and photovoltaic panels works well. Once the heating is installed, electricity, water, and waste disposal infrastructure is in place, Aleš from the company 1ku1 will start. We have his concrete floors in several houses, and they work great. In the kitchen, I'm always dropping something on the floor, and if the floors are not prepared for that, they won't last long. The floor in the upper storey will be mostly linoleum with dry installation. We didn't want to pump concrete upstairs for those few square meters and risk the visual structure of the lower parts of the ceiling. That will end all the rough work on the house, and the interior will start to be finalized. The lower floor will get a dark finish. Dark tones will cozy up the interior and give it a touch of luxury. Dark color is also more forgiving of the minor visual flaws that occasionally appear on the wood. Built-in furniture will be an important part of the house. The smaller the building, the more sophisticated the storage system needs to be. Kitchens, bathrooms, and sills will be clad in granite. Tomáš from AD1150 will help us with the equipment of appliances. He is well versed in different brands and eager to advise. He will even supply linoleum for the staircase and upper floor. The interior will complement our modest collection of paintings. We are looking forward to the latest additions from Evžen Šimera. They fit like a glove. We're still not sure about the façade. Either we will scorch it or treat the boards with wood tar. The house will be as black as a boot, both outside and inside. With the Jizerské mountains behind us, we and our house will look into the endlessly wrinkled landscape surrounding the city. So let it be a good home!

Vila Dorka je dřevostavba. Obvodovou konstrukci tvoří skladba z CLT panelů a dřevovláknitých desek. Panely jsou v interiéru přiznané, a tak bude dům prostoupen dřevem. Zpracovatel dřeva dodává CLT panely z českých stromů a díky tomu náš dům nemusí cestovat z Finska, či Rakouska. Vila Dorka bude Češka. Realizace dřevostavby se ujmou naši kamarádi. Stavět začneme v březnu, kdy chlapi z 1ku1, vybetonují desku a připraví přípojky. Pak už to poletí. Na konci dubna přiveze jeřáb jednotlivé části dřevostavby. Díky systému od firmy Nema by hrubá stavba měla stát za pouhých sedm dní! Na stavbu přijedou panely s přípravou pro veškeré instalace a pak už se tu budou jen střídat jednotlivé profese a dokončovat dům. Hned po kompletaci hrubé stavby nastoupí oknaři a klempíři. Dřevohliníková okna stavbu uzavřou a my začneme připravovat skladby podlah. O energetický koncept domu se stará Dalibor a jeho firma Skácel solár. Jde především o to, aby systém podlahového vytápění s krbem a fotovoltaickými panely dobře fungoval. Jakmile bude nainstalováno topení, rozvedena elektřina, voda a odpady, nastoupí opět 1ku1. Realizace jejich betonových podlah máme v několika domech a fungují skvěle. V kuchyni mi pořád něco padá na zem a když na to podlahy nejsou připravené, moc dlouho neobstojí. Podlaha v horním patře bude mít skladbu suchou. Na těch pár metrů čtverečních se nám nechtělo pumpovat beton do patra a riskovat pohledovou konstrukci dolních částí stropu. Tím všechny hrubší práce na domě skončí a začne se finalizovat interiér.

Jsme zahaleni teplým letním večerem. Vzduchem se vine nasládlá vůně grilovaného masa a čerstvých bylinek bičovaných jižním sluncem. Všichni se těší na večeři. Jen co začne sluneční kotouč olizovat vrchol Vápenného, nastane velká hostina. Na chvilku zvednu oči a poslední paprsek slunce mně zasvítí do tváře, těsně před tím, než zmizí ve vlnách horizontů okolních hor.

Zní to až neuvěřitelně, ale pokud se vše podaří, tak bychom měli započít stavbu na začátku jara a stěhovat se na přelomu léta a podzimu. Ještě nikdy jsme v Mjölku takhle rychle žádný dům nepostavili. It sounds incredible, but if everything goes well, we should start building at the beginning of spring and move in at the turn of summer and autumn. We've never built a house so quickly in Mjölk.
