Dům pod stromy bude stát ve sto let staré zahradě vily. Pozemek zcela ovládají veliké listnaté stromy. Zahrada je zanedbaná, ale hlavní stromy jsou vysazeny dobře, mají dostatečné rozestupy a tak se během let jejich koruny rozklenuly ve velké výšce a hodně do široka. Pod baldachýnem korun je zcela jiná atmosféra než v hustě zastavěném okolí. Listy poskytují stín, chlad a soukromí.

The House Below the Trees is located in the 100 years old garden of the villa. The plat is dominated by huge leaf trees. The garden might be unkempt, however, the dominant trees fit well in the garden. They have had enough space during the years so they are massive and the treetops are widely arched. The atmosphere under the blanket of branches is so different compared to the urbanized surrounding. The tree crowns offer pleasant shadow and privacy.

V zahradě je uměle vymodelovaná terénní plošina. Možná tu býval tenisový kurt nebo skleník, kdo ví. Dnes tvoří platformu nové stavbě, která této terénní anomálie využívá.

There is an artificially made terrain platform in the garden that raises one meter above the surrounding terrain. It may be served as a tennis court or as a place for a greenhouse, who knows. These days the platform supports the new building.

Do popsaného prostředí navrhujeme dům, ve kterém rozvíjíme naší oblíbenou prostorovou myšlenku zapuštěného domu. Hlavní obytný prostor domu včetně ložnic je zanořen do terénu a poskytuje svým obyvatelům dostatek soukromí, tlumí letní parné dny a poskytuje nevšední pohledy do okolní zeleně.

We are designing the house that is utilizing our favourite spatial idea - the space immersed into the ground. The main living space and the bedrooms are slightly sunk into the ground. That allows enough privacy to the residents, creates a nice environment during hot summer days and reveals unexpected views to the ambient greenery.
